India Elections, Modi and Political Drama

As the people’s mandate in the world’s largest democracy becomes clearer with each phase of the elections, which so far have been three, the shrill rhetoric from Modi haters, India haters and Leftist-Islamist nexus that wants to bring his government down has become more and more amusing. Latest being, what he will become in future since none of the dirt they tried to throw at him regarding his 10 years of governance has stuck with the electorate. Latest is the ultimate what-if scenario.. 

Goes somewhat like this…

Me : Why do you look so worried

Friend: Nothing yaar.. This Modi na.. 

Me: Why, what did he do wrong..

Friend: No man! He has done good for the country, but!!

Me: But what?

Friend: He may become a dictator, like Putin, Hitler

Me: So how many countries has he invaded? How many people has he killed?

Friend: No not yet, but in future he might

Me: You see that?

Me: There, it is a big hole in the ground, that..

Leftist-Islamist Opposition Rhetoric: There ar no jobs, so much unemployment, we are dying, we are dead

Ground Reality: India has achieved the the highest growth rate amongst developed and developing economies… since Covid, with amongst the lowest inflation rate.

Leftist-Islamist Opposition Rhetoric: Oh my God, so much inflation, what to do, we are dying, we are dead

Ground Reality : India is currently in the middle of largest ever democratic exercise the world has ever seen with an electorate of 1.4 Billion people of which 65-70 percent are casting ballots with no reports of fraud

Leftist-Islamist-Opposition rhetoric : Oh my God, Democracy is dying Democracy is dead, long live Democracy.

Ground Reality: India’s Prime Minister Modi is cursed, abused, berated, called a demgogue, called a thief(chowkidar chor hai) called a dictator, compared to Hitler, Putin.. by thousands of voices inside the country(try that in Putin’s Russia once, or Saudi Arabia or North Korea or Iran once and you will know how quickly Dictators hand you your body parts with one thousanth of this vitriol)

Leftist-Islamist-opportunistic Opposition rhetoric : Oh My God, We are dying, we are dead, Dictator is coming, Dictator is here…

Ground Reality : Removed Article 370, Integrtated the half of Kashmir that was in India’s control into mainstream, pushed back hard on terrorism, made the world appreciate India and Indian heritage by standing tall and standing firm on hlobal stage

Leftist-Islamist-opportunistic Opposition rhetoric: Oh My God, Oh My God, It’s over, India is done for, We are dying, we are dead

Built hundreds of thousands of kilometers of roads and highways, provided tens of millions of gas connections, Built and provided free houses, toilets, water connections, free ration..to hundreds of millions of people, pulled 400 million out of poverty

But this was their responsibility… We are dying, we are dead

Ground Reality: Muslim population of India, which is 15-20 percent and growing( about 200-300 million, second largest in the world; with over 300,000 mosques, tens of thousands of Madarsas where muslim children’s futures are robbed by Mullahs by sowing hatred into them for every non-muslim; 

This population has been an outsize recipient of all the government policies to help the poor that Modi administration initiated, because they are the poorest due to decades of fear mongering and appeasement of Congress’s 3 generations of dynastic rule, so they could garner their vote en-bloc; this population after receiving the largesse, will barely have a couple of votes cast for Modi. A certain large section of them are happy to do Namaz in the middle of the road, scream Azaan on loudspeakers 5 times a day, openly threaten “sir tan se Juda”(we will sever your head). 

Rhetoric: Muslims are afraid. Islam is in danger in India because of Modi.

What about all the last 7 decades of governance prior to Modi? why is India in such sad state which is needing so much fixing ..
